Planning & development

Planning and Development Issues are the responsibility of Council's Environmental & Community Services Department.

Town Plannings aims are to encourage the proper management, development and conservation of the natural and man made environment.

Building and Development aims are to implement a "one stop shop" system for timely delivery of approvals, enhance building and development standards within the Shire and enhance architectural quality and energy efficiency of newbuildings and developments.

The NSW Government is undergoing a major overhaul of the NSW Planning system.  The Planning Reforms require a greater focus on Strategic Planning, comprehensive planning instruments and simplified planning controls.  For more information, visit NSW Government, Department of Planning
